EndNote X1 for Mac - Update
This update provides EndNote Cite While You Write compatibility with Microsoft Word 2008.
INSTRUCTIONS:
EndNote X1 for Mac and Word 2008 SP1 must be installed prior to running this patch. Word 2008 needs to be updated to at least Service Pack 1.
- Download the file "CWYW_Word_2008.dmg" (File Size: 3 MB).
- Close EndNote and Microsoft Word 2008.
- Double-click the "CWYW_Word_2008.dmg" file to mount.
- Double-click the "CWYW For Word 2008" Disk Image to open.
- Double-click the "CWYW For Word 2008.pkg" file to start the installer.
- Follow the installer prompts to update Word 2008.
- Use the steps here if you do not see the tools after installing.
A few minor issues exist with this patch:
- Configure EndNote does not install/uninstall CWYW for Word 2008. This patch installer is the only way to add the EndNote X1 tools to Word 2008.
- Figure commands result in unexpected issues with the CWYW tools. We do not recommend working with figure lists with EndNote X1 and Word 2008.
- The CWYW keyboard shortcuts do not work, so you must use the menu items or the toolbar.
